In 2007 in North central FL we went through wild fires for about a month. I believe it engulf close to 100,000 acres and million acres just north of us in GA. There was evacuation of our area and we was told by the fire fighters we were going to lose our house. Lucky for us the two massive fires that was coming from two diffrent directions ran in to each other and blew themselves out. In other words there was little to no fuel for the fires to burn. The fire stop about 1/4 mile from our place. Sparks from the fires keep starting up other little fires all around our property. One which burned right up to our property. Smoke, ash in the air summer heat of FL and no sun but orange skies for days was everywhere. To me it truly look like what the time of the end would look.
My advice CC is stay in air conditions house as much as possible and wear a face mask to protect yourself from smoke outside. Good luck to you and stay safe. Dont forget to thank the fire fighters if you get a chance for putting their life on the line to protect your area. Take care. Still Totally ADD
